Location

Details
The NELI form is required for all electrical permit applications for multi-unit residential buildings with five (5) units or more, including:
- Electrification of existing fuel combustion space heating and domestic hot water systems
- New electric heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- New electric vehicle (EV) charging systems
- Installation of new or modification of other electrical loads exceeding 3,000 watts within a unit
The NELI form is not required when the project results in a reduction of the overall electrical load, such as replacing electric baseboard heaters with heat pumps, provided the net load is reduced.
Brandon will provide a brief presentation, followed by an extended Q&A session to answer attendees’ questions.
Additional Resource
The NELI form template and explainer brochure are available on the City of Vancouver’s Electrical Permit webpage.
