BC Hydro issues call for power

“British Columbia’s electrical and line utility contractors look forward to helping build new sources of clean, renewable electricity and the supporting transmission infrastructure. The projects that will be developed through the Call for Power are essential to meeting the future electricity needs of our communities and economy.

“The foundations of any electrification strategy include electricity and the skilled electrical workers to build the infrastructure needed from generation to consumption. The private sector-led projects that will emerge from the Call, combined with Site C coming on-line and BC Hydro’s $36 billion capital plan will help ensure BC has the electricity it needs as we transition to less dependence on fossil fuel energy sources. We now need to ensure we are investing in the people – electricians and powerline technicians – who will ensure British Columbia is successful in meeting its climate action, housing and healthcare goals.”
