ECABC Supports New BC Hydro Capital Plan

Electrical Contractors Association of British Columbia President Matt MacInnis issued the following statement on BC Hydro’s updated capital plan, “Power Pathway: Building BC’s Energy Future.”

“ECABC strongly supports BC Hydro’s updated 10-year capital plan, which includes approximately $36 billion in investments in British Columbia’s clean electricity system. These projects will have a tremendous positive impact on job creation, economic development and our ability to achieve climate change targets.

“ECABC’s members are essential to every stage of electricity generation, transmission and consumption in British Columbia. Today, contractors, their employees, and our industry suppliers are hard at work upgrading substations, repairing powerlines, building new homes and hospitals, installing EV chargers, constructing job-creating industrial projects, helping to finish Site C and much more. We are committed to working with the Province, SkilledTradesBC, training facilities and labour partners to ensure BC has enough electricians, powerline technicians and electrical workers to deliver this plan.”
