BC Proclaims October 6th Electrical Injury Awareness Day

Electrical Contractors Association of British Columbia President Matt MacInnis issued the following statement on the BC Government’s Proclamation of October 6, 2025 as Electrical Injury Awareness Day:

“Safety is paramount for everyone in the construction industry. There is no higher priority for electrical contractors and line utility contractors than the safety of their teams, and British Columbians who depend on electricity every day in our homes, workplaces and public infrastructure.

“ECABC is pleased that the Province of British Columbia has declared October 6, 2025 as Electrical Injury Awareness Day. An important part of our purpose as an association is to provide education and training opportunities to our members. Products like our member-exclusive customizable Health and Safety Manual are important contributions to help develop and maintain strong safety regimes.

“ECABC recognizes and appreciates the important contributions to safety made by stakeholders in the construction ecosystem, including our members, peer associations, training institutions, Technical Safety BC, WorkSafeBC, labour, electrical inspectors and other regulatory agencies.”
