ECABC’s Statement on Powering Growth, Fueling Opportunity Plan

Electrical Contractors Association of British Columbia President Matt MacInnis issued the following statement on on the provincial government’s Powering Growth, Fueling Opportunity plan:

“For generations British Columbians have relied on our supply of clean, abundant and affordable electricity to power our communities and economy. It is imperative that BC continues to make significant investments adding new generation and strengthening the grid so we can meet our domestic needs and support growth in traditional and emerging sectors.

The Powering Growth, Fueling Opportunity Plan is a step in the right direction. We need to move with urgency to get projects from concept and planning to construction, using both BC Hydro and private sector resources to get this essential work done. ECABC’s members have the experience and expertise to help deliver major hydro projects, renewable power including wind farms, and support transmission upgrades including the North Coast Transmission Line.”
