In addition to issuing permits, licences and certificates, TSBC works with industry to reduce safety risks through assessment, education and outreach, enforcement, and research.

2022 STATE OF SAFETY & ANNUAL REPORT
Technical Safety BC has released it’s 2022 State of Safety and Annual Report. The reports provide a snapshot of results and efforts to assure safety in the many technical systems that British Columbians interact with and rely on every day across the province. They have highlighted a few specific topics: gas line safety, emerging climate change risks, and the new Licensed Contractor program. |
FSR CERTIFICATION RENEWAL & CONTRACTORS LICENCE/PERMITS Your electrical field safety representative (FSR) certificate of qualification must be renewed every three years with proof of continuing education. It’s a good idea to make sure any FSRs named on your licence or permits have not let their certificate expire.

FEE CHANGES 2021-2023 In December, 2020, Technical Safety BC asked its clients and stakeholders for their feedback on proposed fee changes for 2021-2023. This consultation ended on January 31, 2021. With client feedback and COVID-19 related recovery indicators in mind, Technical Safety BC plans to implement a 2% general increase, effective May 17, 2021. This increase will not apply to the amusement devices technology as our research indicates that this industry has experienced unparalleled impact due to COVID-19. |
